About
Why do people go to the beach? We LOVE the beach! There is nothing like listening to the beautiful sounds of the waves. It’s something that will immediately wash away all the stresses of our day-to-day lives. Gazing out onto the abyss of the bay will take you to a place of tranquility and peace. Each summer millions of people are pulled to Wasaga Beach to experience just that.
Living in WB
When the founders of Shaka Wasaga Boat Cruise, GP and Amanda, moved to Wasaga Beach it was a life changing experience. To live in a place where you could go to the bask on the 14km beach any day in the summer or Kayak from Georgian Bay all the way down into Essa County. To be able to hike any season as Wasaga has over 100km of trails which are just stunning any day of the year. To be so close to the mountains and just close enough to the major cities that you will never miss anything. It was like at mini paradise to them and they finally found their home.
There are so many things to do in Wasaga such as the adventure park, go-karting, batting cages, golfing, mini-golfing, renting paddleboards/canoes/kayaks and even jet skis and for those extreme adventurists going skydiving just to name a few. But as GP and Amanda soon realized, something was missing. There were absolutely no boat cruises sailing the longest freshwater beach in the world! That was the moment! Although there have been boat cruises in the past, and there are plenty that operate in Simcoe County starting a normal boat cruise just was not the vision that GP and Amanda had. They wanted to build something different. They wanted to build a place that was versatile something you could take the family out on to watch the sunset or something that you could do to celebrate any milestone with your favorite humans.
Start of a New Business
In 2019, they came up with an idea. They pulled all the pieces together and would be ready to operate in summer 2021 except with the set back for their first venture. They had to flip their business, and although they could not pull it together in 2021, everything fell into place in the winter of 2021. Early 2022 was the beginning of Shaka Wasaga Boat Cruise!
